My research focuses on the causes of phenological shifts in plant species. More specifically, I aim to determine the extent to which biotic factors, such as plant species richness and the decline of invertebrates, influence these changes. I am also examining the mediating function of plant species richness in the relationship between plant functional traits and plant phenology. As a huge fan of dry grasslands, I enjoy conducting fieldwork on the semi-dry grasslands around Jena. Although my research focus is plant phenology, I have also worked on projects addressing the positive influence of flower strips in arable fields on species diversity and the restoration potential of dry grasslands after disturbance.
